Well I just bought one...it's a Conair Ionic thing...
i tried using it, and i find it really dries my Hair, but it doesn't keep the
curl in...it sort of just straightens it and then poofs it out...
How do i control it? first i was sort of combing the diffuser through my hair, is that right? do i need to spin it??
i have bi-racial curly hair that is relaxed, so it is very big and poofy.
If a diffuser isn't working, tell me how i can define my curls so they are soft and bouncy, and also what products to use
Bi-racial very curly hair. I just bought a hair blow dryer diffuser....?
OH SWEETIE use olive oil its great just a drop will do its not at all oily you just use a drop makes hair shiny managable lustrous calms and tames frizzies and defines curl Bi-racial very curly hair. I just bought a hair blow dryer diffuser....?

I would like to buy a hair / blow dryer for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. What should I buy?
First of all she would NOT appreciate something that is wildly expensive. So I鈥檓 looking for something reasonably priced.
She鈥檚 complimented on her hair all the time and one of her claims-to-fame is she will blow dry her hair with cold/unheated air. She won鈥檛 always have the time for this so she does use heat sometimes.
She doesn鈥檛 do anything special with her hair. Just blows it straight.
The more compact it is the better.
Please help. Thanks!I would like to buy a hair / blow dryer for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. What should I buy?

What's the best Hair/Blow dryer for 4B African American Hair?
I have !!! E X T R E M E L Y !!! THICK 4B African-American Hair, and I'm looking for a new hair dryer w/comb attachments!!!
What would be the best brand and model for my hair type----i'm trying to get it as straight as possible without damaging it with too much heat.
We all know we're in a recession, so please suggest more college-budget friendly items, as well as pricey items!
...and what's this I hear about tourmaline/ceramic/ionic hairdryers?
THANKS!!What's the best Hair/Blow dryer for 4B African American Hair?
I have extremely thick 4b hair also. I used to have a golden hot hair dryer with the comb and it worked very well and costs me about 30 some bucks. The ionic hair dryers are good because they get the hair dryer and straighter with less time and effort but they are going to cost a lot more. I belive Ion has an ionic dryer and you can purchase it at Sallys. FHI also has a very good dryer but be prepared to spend at least 200 dollars. What's the best Hair/Blow dryer for 4B African American Hair?
Check out designessentials.com They have really good products for natural hair and their dryers and curling irons get natural hair very straight without damage. It's well worth the money. I have 4b hair and now i am wearing my hair straight for a while.

Hair blow dryer diffuser...help?!?
i just bought one and i feel like it makes my hair really big and poofy.
i was sort of combing it through my hair...i dont know how to use it...please help...what shampoos and conditioners should i use before i use it?? help! Hair blow dryer diffuser...help?!?
You put the diffuser on one spot and use little circular motions, then move it to another spot and repeat. Diffusers are usually used for creating volume, but not for drying your entire head. They work best on curly hair because they allow some curl to linger instead of making hair poofy.
If you are trying to use your hair dryer to straighten and shape your hair, use a concentrator instead.
In terms of shampoo and conditioner, I recommend Bed Head.Hair blow dryer diffuser...help?!?
you kind of just stick it on a section of your hair and wait a little bit and then change sections. you're not suposed to fully dry your hair you are just suposed to dry it enough.
its for somone who has curly hair so if you dont have curls maybe you should use the kind that has a little triangle looking thing on it haha i forgot what its called.
hope that helps!!

I have a waterproof cast on my foot, can I use a hair blow dryer to try even though it says not to?
well if it says not to then dont! just elevate it and let it dry naturally. if you are in a hurry, sit under a ceiling fan or near a floor fan and let the circulating air naturally dry it. good luckI have a waterproof cast on my foot, can I use a hair blow dryer to try even though it says not to?
OK, I'm lost, If it's waterproof, then why do you need to dry it? If it does get wet, use a blow dryer on low. It won't do anything harmful. When I had a cast on my hand, I was always getting it wet and I used my blow dryer. Good luckI have a waterproof cast on my foot, can I use a hair blow dryer to try even though it says not to?
yes you can just blow on low
NO.
If you use a hair dryer be sure to set it on the cool setting

Hair blow dryer question?
how come when i press the button for the air to come out extra strong the lights in the bathroom get brighter?Hair blow dryer question?
Your blow drier requires more wattage than is installed in the wall. Try energy saving bulbs (13W instead of 60W or 100W) Ofter the bathroom plug is reduced electricity so that if an accident happens (electricity and water) a person will not get electrocuted. It is a safety feature.Hair blow dryer question?
i did this in science lol. its sumit to do with the circuit.if u hav a parralel circuit( i think its a paralel circuit) then the more aplications you use the more energy is put into all the aplications on that circuit.so your light and hair dryer must be on the same circuit or sumit.
I think you mean dimmer. Its because at start-up it uses more wattage to heat it to the setting you have it on, hi, med, low. If its not blowing a fuse or tripping a break in the electric panel, don't worry about it.
lol because your using extra electricity, and if your like me, you have other things other than a hair dryer plugged in. lol ....straightner, mirrors
I don't know, but you shouldn't be using a hair-dryer in the bathroom.

True or False Hair Blow Dryer (PLZ ANSWER!)?
Ok, so my step mom's hairdresser said that if money is tight, then you could put a sock on the end of your blow dryer in order to make it a diffuser! Is this true? I need an answer and quick! I plan to scrunch my hair, and a diffuser is key to the process!True or False Hair Blow Dryer (PLZ ANSWER!)?

Why do the new hair blow dryer have cold shot setting?
and how to benefit from that setting it is said that it is ideal for setting long-lasting style into placeWhy do the new hair blow dryer have cold shot setting?
good question, i think it is because if it gets to hot outside to have hot air blasting at your face it would come in handy but it cold just be the wanted to and another feature to have a reason to make it more expensive
good questionWhy do the new hair blow dryer have cold shot setting?
In case you do not like to style your hair with heat you can do it with cold air.... i think
Hot air fries your hair, but cold air is not only healthier, but it also locks the style into place
its supposed to make ur hair hold its style longer as well as making it shiny and smooth
cold air shines and keeps ur hair in the style u want it, all though if u have too much cold air it may flatten it.
just like when u put cold water in ur hair..makes it shiny.
hope i helpedd=] i didnt know this either until i read my hair dryer box a little while ago.
i really dont know
It's meant to set your style after your hair is completely dry. Say you want to set your bangs, then blow dry regularly and finish off by hitting the cool shot button. It will lock your style in place.
it's so it doesn't fry your hair
the hot air dries your hair beyond what it needs. it literally cooks your hair. the cold air relaxes your hair and makes it stronger.
heat drying opens your cuticle while you are styling so by hitting it with cool air afterward it puts your cuticle back into place which into locks in a style as well as gives added shine!
Not really, its just sometimes the dryer is so hot that you need cool air blowing on your head

Which is better for your hair? Blow dryer or flat iron?
My hair is really, really curly. It looks good when I use a blow dryer to style it in a more relaxed curl and it also looks good when I flat iron it. I'm just trying to figure out which is less damaging to your hair, the blow dryer or the flat iron? I use a heat protectant when I do either one but is one less damaging than the other?Which is better for your hair? Blow dryer or flat iron?
Flat irons are directly touching your hair so it does more damage. Unless you use heat protection it will give you split ends and such. However, the results are really good. (with flat irons.) :DWhich is better for your hair? Blow dryer or flat iron?
well the blow dryer kinda straightens it if you do it throughly with a hair brush. the iron touches it up to make it look less frizzy and more straight. you damage your hair more when you just straighten it by air drying your hair b/c the iron burns your hair more to straighten it.
a blow dryer if there is a setting to lower the heat because heat damages the hair

Is it true that the hair blow dryer is worst for the hair than those ceramic Irons ?
If yes why , it doesnt make much sense..Is it true that the hair blow dryer is worst for the hair than those ceramic Irons ?
Both can damage hair pretty badly. Make sure you keep the blow dryer at least 4 inches from your hair. As with the iron, you definitely need a protecting spray and make sure you don't pause while running the straightener down your hair.Is it true that the hair blow dryer is worst for the hair than those ceramic Irons ?
Not neccesarily, but remember to use a heating product like tresseme which is about $4 at drugstores. I think it mostly depend on hair textures.
it depends on the texture of your hair. blow dryers are used to making a girl's hair look like it's been out of place. ceramic irons make your hair look a bit frizzy. there are irons on the commercials that is used to making your hair look perfect.
it depends on your hair and the kind of products you use on it blow dryers tend to dry the hair out really bad thats what causes the split ends. if you don't have to use either one then don't. but if you do just make sure you use a good conditioner

What is better for your hair.. blow dryer or infuser and why?
I have been told that an infuser is but I don't remember why. I don't like infusers at all. I use a blow dryer on cool instead of medium or hot and I hold it about 12 inches away from my head. I also don't let my hair completely dry with the dryer. It seems to be working for me - less split ends and my hair is growing longer now. Been doing this for about a year. What is better for your hair.. blow dryer or infuser and why?

Why does my hair blow-dryer spark blue sometimes?
thats dangerous you should definatly get a knew oneWhy does my hair blow-dryer spark blue sometimes?
it's probably old, get a new oneWhy does my hair blow-dryer spark blue sometimes?
I think it means it's time to get a new one before you electrocute yourself and possibly burn your hair off. Seriously.
SOunds like you have a loose wire in the blowdryer.
You have two options here
1. take it to someone who knows how to work with electrical appliances and have him her fix it or uit is time to shop for a new one. I highly advise you not to use it in this condition as you may experience a shock that can be fatal.
good luck
PS never work on an electrical appliance that is plugged in
it means that it over heated with also means that the dryer is either too low of a quality to manage the heat or too old. buy a new one. blue sparks means extreme heat and potential danger!~
If it's not Blue Tooth it's a loose connection and should not be used.

Can i get rid of head lice by using just a hair blow dryer.?
how hot does a hair dryer get and at what temperature do lice get killed? Can i get rid of head lice by using just a hair blow dryer.?
No! I don't know who told you a blow dryer would be an effective treatement for lice but they were wrong. I hope the site below helps you get rid of them and keep them from coming back. Treatments can be found at most any drugstore for around $10....small price to pay for getting rid of a big problem. Can i get rid of head lice by using just a hair blow dryer.?
you can get ride of lice with a blow dryer but not the eggs you need a shampoo for that
you cannot kill lice with a hair dryer. You need a chemical shampoo.
no it doesn't you should try a home remedy that i tried on my niece....i rubbed a bottle of rubbing alcohol into her hair and then covered her hair with a plastic bag for about 10 to 20 min then use a comb to take them out start from the top to the bottom make sure you have a white towel so they wont fall every where and so you can see how many you had try this for two days...it really works!
No, sorry. You need medicated shampoo- bought at the local drug store and a special comb (forget if theres a name).
You need to shampoo to kill the lice and then take hours out of your day (my cousins- boys, had it and they have medium long and medium thick hair and it took my aunt hours to comb the lice out of their heads) to use the comb to comb out the dead lice.
Lice has to be treated with medicated shampoo. If your blow dryer got hot enough to kill lice, it would also kill you. It is also extremely contageous and can be difficult to get rid of, in other words, forget about the blow dryer and get some lice shampoo.
The hair dyer alone is not going to do the trick. You need several things to get rid of them and stop them from coming back.
First, you need to use a medicated shampoo meant for killing the lice. You can find it at any pharmacy and even most grocery stores.
Then, you need to use a lice comb (looks like a flea comb) to get the eggs out of your hair.
You also need to treat your house. Wash all sheets, blankets, etc. If you have stuffed animals in your room, put them in a plastic garbage bag, tie it, and leave them there for at least two weeks. Its a good trick to make sure that everything is dead...
If you don't go through all the steps the first time, they may come back.
Good luck to you.
You can not kill head lice by using heat but you can kill the nits. Straighten your hair with a hot iron, this will pop any nits.
Do NOT shampoo with chemical treatments. People here really need to research their answers before they go around giving people 'advice.' The lice preparations you buy from a chemist are pesticides and every pesticide has the potential to do serious harm, even if used 100% as directed.
Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem鈥檚 insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.
Feel free to check out the articles at the following site for more advice.
Good luck.
o.o impossible u need to use that shampoo thats ment to kill lice
but if that doesnt work u have to wet ure head and have someone take a comb and pick them out =.= long process but it works better then that shampoo
srry no you need a special comb so the teeth are really close to eachother and comb the lice out hope the lice goes away!!
they do not die with heat!!!!! go to a drug store and get rid. it will give you instructions on the box as to what you need to do to get rid of them.

Will my hair blow dryer/straightener (from USA) work in Sweden?
I'm going on vacation to Sweden in a week weeks, and I'm wondering if my blow dryer and hair straightener (that I bought here in the US) will work there, with the different power and plugs and such? And what would I have to buy to get them to work there? I know you can buy a plug adaptor thing that will make it fit into the outlet there, but what about the different voltage? Will my hair blow dryer/straightener (from USA) work in Sweden?
You would need an adaptor, as an American plug would not fit in a Swedish socket. I do not know if such an adaptor is easy too obtain in the US, but there should be no problem in Sweden, e g Kjell %26amp; Company, with 40 stores in Sweden, carry one for SEK 89 (approx USD 11).
Voltage in Sweden is 230 V AC 50 Hz (som older installations electric razors in bathrooms for have 115 V). Many appliances are able to work with 110鈥?40 V and 50鈥?0 Hz. Usually voltage limits are written on appliances. Do not guess! Equipment not approved for 230 V should only be used with a transformer. Will my hair blow dryer/straightener (from USA) work in Sweden?
if you have an adaptor plug it should work well. my english GHDs worked in germany and spain.

That's a tough one but I'd say head over to Walmart and you should go by the wattage, the higher the wattage the quicker your hair will dry, and you should find something there.

Does anyone know of a good hair blow dryer to buy or brand? Ive gone through 3 in the past couple years, they?
always break on me for no apparent reason! any recommendations greatly appreciated :)Does anyone know of a good hair blow dryer to buy or brand? Ive gone through 3 in the past couple years, they?
whatever your do just make sure you get one that has ION drying...it will say on the box.
it might dry your hair a lil bit slower, but you will get more volume and your hair will be a lot healthier. :]Does anyone know of a good hair blow dryer to buy or brand? Ive gone through 3 in the past couple years, they?
Definitely buy an ionic one, it's much better for your hair.
Anyways, Revlon's are good if you're on a budget.
If you can splurge, T3's are amazing. They can be found at Sephora.com and in store at Sephora!
Hope that helps!
Don't buy the kind with a switch that you flip like a light switch: buy the kind with a flat swicth that slides on and off, they last longer.
I have the Conair Ionic Cord Keeper Hair Dryer. I love it and have had it for years. I can take it with me when I travel, it folds down.
Conair! Not the standard one you buy in the drugstore. Go to a beauty supply store and buy the one that says Professional. These have a heavy duty motor that stands up to repeated use.
i've had my revlon for years.
I'd spend the extra money for a chi or t3. They are excellent dryers, and have at least a year warranty.
I have always used conair blow dryers. They have always seemed to last for me I've had mine now from about 3 years and it works fine.

What's a good but cheap hair blow dryer with a comb at the end for African American hair?
After I condition, I need a good blow dryer with a comb attachment that does the job on thick, coarse hair but isn't so pricey (under $100). HELP!!What's a good but cheap hair blow dryer with a comb at the end for African American hair?
i think conair build good blow dryers. as for combs i know a lot of people will agree that steel ones are best because more heat is trapped and transferred to the hair but i tried it out and I think the wooden ones give better results. I don't have a straightner and blow drying my hair doesn't work for me.How can I straighten my hair without using a straightner or a hair blow dryer?
there are straightening gels and sprays. but if u have thick hair then it probably wouldnt work.
hope this helps =]How can I straighten my hair without using a straightner or a hair blow dryer?
i don't think you can,
buy a straightener at walmart or something. my friend got hers from there for like $25 and it works pretty good. and i think my boyfriend got his from like target for the same amount and it works good too, his hair is natrually like a jewish afro aha or like nick jonas hair but when he straightens it, its really straight. hope i helped.
i hate doing this to people,
help please?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
Well there isn't really any effective way to do that without one of the two.
But there is some gels that are meant for straightening your hair.
But you're generally suppose to blow dry it after you put it in..
I'd just get a straightener.
well in that case what you need i a good hair product any time i want to straighten my hair i always use the old fashion product the straightening comb and that always makes my hair nice and fluffy and straight so maybe you should try that
One option is to use chemical hair straigtening. My friend got it done and she told me it lasts 6 months and It looks really good. Here is a whole page on them if you want to read it.
i hope this helps!

Use shampoos that eliminate frizz and straighten your hair
my opinion is use bed head control freak
if you start using it a lot it will make your hair straight
if its curly or wavy at walmart, wallgreens and some salons you can buy this cimecal and i lasts a realy long time
Sunsilk Hair Products!
(The Straightening Product Line)
Or any other straightening hair care products.
There isn't really anything else you can do. You can get nice flat iron that doesn't hurt your hair..
you can iron it when it's dry (with help of course). Depends on how long it is.
...i dont think you can
yes there are hair gels that make your hair straight but this usually doesn't work unless you have really thin hair!
they have straightenin shampoos
an iron.
im serious!
iron your hair but make sure u have someone to help you.
my friend did it!
it worked!

Does anyone know if Norwegian Cruise Line has hair blow dryers in the staterooms?
We are on the Dawn. I can't find the answer on the NCL website and I need to know if I should pack one.Does anyone know if Norwegian Cruise Line has hair blow dryers in the staterooms?
Yes, all staterooms on the Dawn have hair dryers.Does anyone know if Norwegian Cruise Line has hair blow dryers in the staterooms?
They will have them.
Every NCL ship has a hair dryer in every stateroom, but my sister said that they aren't very powerful, and the power outlets don't have a high enough capacity to handle good blow dryers you bring from home with you.
When I went on that cruise line 3 years ago they did. Enjoy your vacation, We had a great time.
