Can i get rid of head lice by using just a hair blow dryer.?

how hot does a hair dryer get and at what temperature do lice get killed? Can i get rid of head lice by using just a hair blow dryer.?
No! I don't know who told you a blow dryer would be an effective treatement for lice but they were wrong. I hope the site below helps you get rid of them and keep them from coming back. Treatments can be found at most any drugstore for around $10....small price to pay for getting rid of a big problem. Can i get rid of head lice by using just a hair blow dryer.?
you can get ride of lice with a blow dryer but not the eggs you need a shampoo for that
you cannot kill lice with a hair dryer. You need a chemical shampoo.
no it doesn't you should try a home remedy that i tried on my niece....i rubbed a bottle of rubbing alcohol into her hair and then covered her hair with a plastic bag for about 10 to 20 min then use a comb to take them out start from the top to the bottom make sure you have a white towel so they wont fall every where and so you can see how many you had try this for two days...it really works!
No, sorry. You need medicated shampoo- bought at the local drug store and a special comb (forget if theres a name).

You need to shampoo to kill the lice and then take hours out of your day (my cousins- boys, had it and they have medium long and medium thick hair and it took my aunt hours to comb the lice out of their heads) to use the comb to comb out the dead lice.
Lice has to be treated with medicated shampoo. If your blow dryer got hot enough to kill lice, it would also kill you. It is also extremely contageous and can be difficult to get rid of, in other words, forget about the blow dryer and get some lice shampoo.
The hair dyer alone is not going to do the trick. You need several things to get rid of them and stop them from coming back.

First, you need to use a medicated shampoo meant for killing the lice. You can find it at any pharmacy and even most grocery stores.

Then, you need to use a lice comb (looks like a flea comb) to get the eggs out of your hair.

You also need to treat your house. Wash all sheets, blankets, etc. If you have stuffed animals in your room, put them in a plastic garbage bag, tie it, and leave them there for at least two weeks. Its a good trick to make sure that everything is dead...

If you don't go through all the steps the first time, they may come back.

Good luck to you.
You can not kill head lice by using heat but you can kill the nits. Straighten your hair with a hot iron, this will pop any nits.

Do NOT shampoo with chemical treatments. People here really need to research their answers before they go around giving people 'advice.' The lice preparations you buy from a chemist are pesticides and every pesticide has the potential to do serious harm, even if used 100% as directed.

Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem鈥檚 insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.

Feel free to check out the articles at the following site for more advice.

Good luck.

o.o impossible u need to use that shampoo thats ment to kill lice

but if that doesnt work u have to wet ure head and have someone take a comb and pick them out =.= long process but it works better then that shampoo
srry no you need a special comb so the teeth are really close to eachother and comb the lice out hope the lice goes away!!
they do not die with heat!!!!! go to a drug store and get rid. it will give you instructions on the box as to what you need to do to get rid of them.

  1. I really can't believe that companies were allowed to sell shampoo with insecticides in them, it really doesn't make sense. I'm glad that the situation seems to have changed now with companies now bringing out head lice shampoo that is free of insecticides and won't harm our children.
